Mr. Chester has handled several appeals to the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, including the following decisions:

Quad Enterprises v. Paramus Borough, 250 N.J. Super. 256 (App. Div. 1991), where the court ruled that a municipality had improperly rejected a proposal by Mr. Chester’s client, a major real estate developer, to construct low-income (Mt. Laurel) housing in the Borough of Paramus.

Trujillo v. County of Hudson, 2006 N.J. Super. Unpublished LEXIS 1055 (App. Div. 2006), a premises liability case in which the court upheld a trial court’s dismissal of all claims of negligence on the part of Mr. Chester’s client, the City of Union City.

Mr. Chester has served as trial counsel on several high-profile cases, including:

Cicchetti v. Morris County Sheriff’s Office, 194 N.J. 563 (2008), an important decision under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination rendered by the New Jersey Supreme Court. Mr. Chester served as co-counsel at the trial in which a jury verdict was rendered in favor of his client, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office.

Smith-Pearson v. Preakness Nursing Home, Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division, Passaic County, a wrongful death case in which Mr. Chester successfully defended a public nursing home against claims of negligence and malpractice. Mr. Chester has published sports law articles in The New York Times, Miami Herald, Hartford Courant, The Sporting News, Sports Inc., St. Louis Globe, and on various websites. He has appeared as a sports law analyst on WFAN, KMOX, WFLA, WHOO, and CNN.
